HELP ME PLEASE!!! MY COUNTRIES DEMOCRACY IS BEING MURDERED!!!

I was just sent an email from Greenpeace, and they said that an oil company called Enbridge is proposing a pipeline that will extend from the Alberta Tar Sands to the coast of British Columbia, where 525,000 barrels worth will be sent to Asia by ship per day. This will expand the Tar Sands even more, speeding up climate change even more than it already is. Enbridge themselves admit's that spills are invitable and they have a record of one spill every week between 1999-2008. If that wasn't bad enough, the pipeline will cross over 1000 streams and rivers, essential habitats for salmon and other speicies. If there's an oil spill in just one of these rivers or streams, all of the salmon will be poisoned, including bears, eagles, and any other animal that eats them. What's worse, is that this pipeline will go through the Great Bear Rainforest, the last intact temperate rainforest in the world. This temperate rainforest has a warm, moist climate which makes it, litterlay, tons more productive than a tropical rainforest. Wolves, cougars, kermode bears ("spirit bear", a rare black bear that is born with a gene that makes it white, and can only be found in The Great Bear Rainforest across the globe) and thousands of other speices thrive here, and if the Rainforest goes, a lot will probably die out, and it's a guarantee that the Kermode Bear will be lost to us forever. Also, this pipeline will pass through dozens of traditional First Nations territories, who all strongly oppose the project. If this pipeline is built, then they will most likely be forced out of their homes and know their voices were ignored, a clear violation of Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms and human rights.
Once the pipeline reached the coast, it would fill 200 supertankers per year. These tankers, each one carrying more than 53094510 gallons of oil, would pass through one of the most sacred and irreplacable marine routes in Canada every year.
If you care about human rights, the planet, the enviourment, stopping climate change and the oil sands at all, please, I am begging you to go to Greenpeace's website and fill out a letter against this abomination to our home.
How To Get to The "Stop Northern Gate Way Pipeline!" Campaign Page:
Step 1. Google (I am not sure if you can use another search engine) search "Green Peace" and click on the first result, Greenpeace Canada
Step 2. Go to the "Our Campaign's" section at the top.
Step 3. Aim the cursor at "Tar Sands", and another menu should pop up. Click, "Get Involved."
Step 4. Under the Paragraph, "Send a Message to Our Politicans", click the last link, "Keep our Coast Clear: Legally ban oil tanker traffic from Canada's West Coast."
Step 5. Fill out the information and send the letter! The letter written is automatic, but you can add to it if you want. The site asks for your first name, last name, and email address, and I know how suspicous that is to a lot of people, so you can give them a fake name and address if you like. On another note, please share this with your friends on facebook, twitter, and youtube! We need to spread the word of this and gather as much support as possible. I can't tell you enough about how dire the consequences will be for our planet and the enviorment if this pipeline gets through.

i had to do a project on this. the question was if the economic benefits outweigh the environmental costs. it's debatable, but in my opinion mankind has screwed nature enough. i think it's good to take action against it.

ugh well people will have to realize when they get rich off of this "Well now that I'm rich... I'm might die really soon now because I don't Know... I only messed up EVERYONES LIFE." So they are going to have all this money a hole in the ozone, no food, no air, and a lot of ticked off people. Yeah that makes perfect scenes!??? Idiots.

This is horrible. I can't believe they are too blind to see what they are doing, what they are destroying.

Let`s just face it, this world would be a lot better if we respected the world. How long is it going to take for everyone to realize that? We aren`t the only living things on this world! There are other creatures on this world, who are more respectable than some people!
I can`t help but get angry when I see stuff like this. If we keep lving like this, there`ll be no more plants and animals, which means no people. Some people are so careless!

Lunarlight, I share your outrage, but we all still need to follow the site rules.
As I have said before, please share this info and petition with whoever you can! And please go to the website, there's a LOT more you can do to help than just signing the petition.
UPDATE:
1. Recently Canada had endorsed the United Nations Declaration on The Rights if Indigenous Peoples, which states that First Nations communities must give consent before a project can begin that effects their land and resources. So far, 70 tribes have signed against it, meaning that if this pipeline is built, the oil companies, Alberta and Canada government would have violated international law.
2. The last time something like this happened was in 1989, when the Exxon Valdez oil spill destroyed the herring fishery, the lifeblood of Cordova, Alaska, a small coastal town. Families went bankrupt, people lost hope, and suicide haunted the community. The herring population and the community have never recovered.

This is horrible!

How could they just think of themselves? Everything has its consequences. All the animals in the Great Bear Rainforest will lose their homes! This is outrageous!! :< There is a high possibility that an oil spill would happen and the water bodies will be polluted!

The world is already going through a lot of climate changes. (Global warming for example). In one way or another, this will also affect a lot of things. Losing an endangered species? Polluting water sources?

Let's play our part and fill out a letter against this abomination to our home.

If we can make these species no longer endangered it would help my country a lot.

Well, these poor animals are going to suffer because of human supidity and inconsiderant people. I, personally, like animals better than people, hence why I have no friends.

I'd like to say that the Spirit bear isn't technically a species, they're black bears with a gene that makes their fur white. But we can all agree that the Great Bear Rainforest is their only home, and this pipeline is a majour threat to their existence.
Fang, there's a LOT more you can do to help than just giving donations. Dogwood Initiative, the creators of the video I put on this thread, have a kit that gives you everything you need to inform people, both online and in your community, about what's happening and getting them to sign the petition. Spreading this news over facebook and emailing people you know will be a huge help to this cause.
Update: Stephen Harper, the prime minister of Canada, has accused anyone that is concerned about the enviourment and is against this project as radicals that only care about their activist agenda. Wow.. just wow. Why did anyone ever vote this guy into office? On another note, Alison Redford, the premier of Alberta, stated in a newspaper article I read that the enviourmental activists against this pipeline project will hear their point of view, and she will be travelling to Washington in Feburary to represent "Alberta's" views. I put quotations around Alberta because not everyone in Alberta agrees with this project.

Today’s news in the Globe and Mail confirms the ugly truth: This government wants to silence Greenpeace. Secret surveillance on peaceful, non-violent organizations it disagrees with is nothing short of an attack on democracy.
