Finchfur stood in the middle of Fourtrees, sitting next to his former leader.
"Rosestar! Why have you brought me here? Is RiverClan in trouble?" he asked nervously. The pinkish - ginger she - cat did not answer this question immediately, but stared up at Silverpelt.
After a moment she turned her warm amber eyes onto Finchfur and spoke in a very low voice:
He who has been robbed will take revenge,
seeking only a death to be avenged.
You, Finchfur, a golden streak of light,
will be swallowed up by a black river in the night.
The dark water will be your end.
For you, StarClan will not send.

After finishing the prophecy, Rosestar vanished into blackness.

"Wait, Rosestar! What do you mean? I'm not a thief! Please come back! I don't -" Finchfur's words were cut off by a great surge of water rolling over everything and filling his mouth and choking him.
He fought to the surface to breathe, only to be dragged back down again.
Oh StarClan, help me! he thought, desperate for air.
The current carried him into black nothingness, until everything was gone.
"Finchfur! Finchfur! Get up! It's time for dawn patrol!" meowed a familiar voice.
