The Ghost In The Fortress

Pain stalked through the harsh snow. He felt exposed - his mottled greenish, brown-black cloak did not match well with the icy-white swirls. However, moving at slow speed, one could easily mistake him for a rock. His senses remained on high alert, however, until he reached the safety of the Fortress. He would stay here until it was safe to move. The cats in the forest had become restless with the night, what was hidden the darkness. Tensions were high, but fear had grown too, and Pain had seen them searching for him. He had been on unknown land. The other cats had the advantage. Plus, he had seen the dog. It was big and strong, his nose was sharp. He would have to take care of it.

The storm didn't die down. The wind howled; summer came to no effect on these mountains. He saw the enemy patrol before they approached to Fortress. They were unaccustomed to the extreme conditions and their summer fur were not suited for the weather. There were looking for him. Pain melted into the wall. He would soon take care of them. The Fortress had many secrets. The master of shadows became invisible once more.

Darkflower followed her leader.

Runnningpaw trembled and glanced around. "I'm scared!" He whimpered.

Tawnypelt joined Icestar's group, carefully walking near, um, Mistpaw (random imaginary apprentice) who was the weakest and newest apprentice of the group.

"I hope we get to --place we're heading to-- soon-it's really cold and we don't necessarily blend in," Tawnypelt chattered as an icy wind sliced cleanl through her fur. Normally, the brown, black, and whte pattern would blend in with trees and dirt, but not on this spotless white cloud on earth.

I wouldn't recommend you go to Icestar's group. She has lots of warriors. 5 warriors adn two apprentices. Go to some other leader's. Icestar's group: Nightfrost, Smokepaw, Cheesefur, Darkflower, Starclaw, Shadowstorm, and Mistpaw
Brightstar's group: Tobi, Crystaldance, Darkpaw, Runningpaw, and Gorsepaw. (I need more warriors)
Monkeystar: Echosong, Willowpaw, Silverstream, Stormclaw, and Stonestream
Lotus-star: Scratch, Mosspaw, Ozone, Adderfang, and Rainsplash

Cheesefur crouched down to the ground. She couldn't smell anything, partly because there were frozen droplets of water stuck to her nose! There was an eerie silence that lasted for a heartbeat, then suddenly... BOOM! A huge crack rang through the halls as the doors burst open and a gust of snow blew in.

Suddenly the derranged Silverstream popped out, ate a banana, and killed Cheesefur! Lol I am kidding!

Silverstream padded through. She was tagging along with the cats because she had recently been kicked out of Shadowclan, and had joined the loners.

You did?

~yes, i did. ~ Silverstream saw a flash of fur mouse lenghths away. She shivvered. What was happening to the forest?

*dunno*

The air became thin and cold. The cats collapsed, shivering and panting.
"Everyone over here!" Cheesefur called, leading her patrol into the safe and hopefully warmer kitchen. There's frozen cheese there!

Icestar sighed. "Eat your cheese, then lets leave this room. All the drafts are giving me the creeps."

The cool wind blew past the cats as they walked down a narrow and steep hallway. there was some kind of fabric draped over the holes in the walls, but it was torn and stained badly. There was no sign of light anywhere. The cats marched on, until they came to a mound of snow that blocked the way. "Well, i guess we turn back-" Cheesefur began to say. but suddenly, there was a small cracking sound, followed by a bigger lump of snow that fell from above. The snow blocked both directions.

(idk i just thought something should happen.)

Brightstar led her patrol along the wall, carefully eyeing everything in the strange room. Suddenly, Ivystreak froze. "I hear something!" Mosspaw's ear twitched as a yowls came from the room next to them, followed by a muffled thud. "Come on!" Brightstar raced forward, but Tobi galumphed ahead, barking enthusiastically, to a doorway, which was blocked thoroughly by snow.

I hope Brightstar doesn't mind god-modding.

Willowpool followed Brightstar.

Mothflight scrambled after lotus-star, fluffing up her fur from the cold. "Brrrr!"

Brightstar pawed at the snow blocking the doorway. "Icestar?"

Sagedapple clenched her jaws. they were stiff from holding the leaf wrap around in the freezing mountains.

Echosong scrabbled at the wall of snow. She was trapped with Icestar and the rest of the patrol.
