Here's my first post!

Viper shuffled around in the nursery, trying to get comfy. Her belly had felt funny all day, not like she was going to be sick, more like a pain that steadily got worse. Sighing, she shuffled again, putting her paws on her head.

"Not long now," Sagedapple reassured the queen, purposely making her voice bright and cheerful. The kitting was going well anyways. She pushed a couple raspberry leaves at Viper and told her to eat it. The medicine cat sat back, glancing around the nursery. "What something to bite down on?" Sagedapple offered, spotting a stout branch.

"Yes please." Viper mewed, taking the stick in her jaws. After a couple heart beats, a very strong contraction hit Viper, and she shrieked, the stick shattering in her mouth as a small ginger kit slid out. Viper gasped, spitting out pieces of stick.
"Is it breathing?" She gasped.

Lightningstorm had backed into the shadows so that Sagedapple, Viper, and the kits had room. Her golden eyes shined in the darkness as she watched the scene tensely. The leggy she-cat only offered her presence, speechless and scared to say or do the wrong thing and make anyone loose focus. Lightningstorm prayed for her new Clanmates' easy birthing and Viper's survival.

Sagedapple rubbed the kit's fur the wrong way, warming the scrap of fur. "Breathing strong and steady," she purred. "He's a strong one." The kitten's ginger fur reminded her of her own kit, Flamesoul. He would grow up to be a great warrior just like him. Gently placing the newborn beside Viper's belly, Sagedapple quickly swept the chips of wood away from the nest. They could prick open a kit's soft skin.

"He's beautiful." Viper purred weakly, leaning forward to eagerly to inspect her son.
"He has the ginger coloring of Auburnflare." Viper thought happily nuzzling her son.
While thinking over names, Viper licked her little son's ear, content already.
Suddenly a contraction rippled through Viper again, making her gasp loudly; the pain didn't seem to be as bad this time, but she had three more kits too come!
Suddenly a contraction hit her again, stronger than the last one, making her wail, her claws digging into her nest, her eyes squeezing close. Wailing loudly again, a small brown tabby kit slid out, already mewling. Viper gasped, trembling.

Dawnstorm heard the ferocious pains and crawled up next to Lightningstorm at the very entrance of the nursery. She silently watch, her eyes darting around. Viper's kits looked all right. She wondered if hers would be okay, too.

"Another strong tom," Sagedapple declared. She repeated rubbing the kit's fur and placing him beside his littermate. The tabby coloring reminded her of Blackstorm's. Her father's was a bit more gray-ish though. She returned her attention to Viper and meowed encouragingly, "Two more to go."

Sparkflame looked down on hr mother and wondered. "Did I seriously look like this?" Sh licked her two brothers and placed them by their mother's stomach. She knew she could help her mother take care of them, at least she wouldn't be lonley. "It's going to be alright." she soothed. "Wow, ight kits in the nursery." she thought.

Viper nodded, gasping. " This better be worth it!" Viper thought angrily and in pain as another contraction, signaling a kit's birth, wracked through her body, making her moan lowly, pushing with all her might, soon a small calico kitten slid out, followed only heart beats after a paler calico kit.

Windystorm watched curiously, his eyes wide like a kit leaving the nursery for the first time. He stepped back, not sure whether or not he should be near the kits, and shot a glance at Lightningstorm to see how his mate was faring. Surprisingly, she seemed calm. Worried. She's dealing with it much better than I am... Windystorm thought, realizing that he was very tense. The fur on the back of his neck was also starting to bristle. Puffing out a sigh, he forced himself to relax. Viper will be fine. She's done this before, and her kits all look healthy and strong... Sagedapple's here to help if anything goes wrong. He thought, his eyes softening slightly at the sight of his old friend, and mentor's, kits. They look kinda like Sunfire. I'd better congratulate him afterwards. Viper, too. Windystorm thought, a soft purr rumbling from his purr as he looked down at the kits.

"All done!" Sagedapple purred in relief, carefully placing the last two kits by Viper's belly. Four strong, healthy kits. You can't ask for more than that. It was a pity that she herself had only one kit. Then she pushed the thought away. Flamesoul was a pawful, and he made up for it more than once, Sagedapple told herself. She rose to her paws and stuck her head out of the bramble nursery. Her amber eyes flashed briefly with amusement at the sight of the Clan all crouching nervously around the clearing. "Four healthy kits!" Sagedapple announced.

Sparkflame smiled at her brothers and sister. SH licked each of their little head and smiled at her mother. "They're beautiful."S he told the black she-cat. "A strange color for you though." she looked at the three males. She thought about it all at once. "Auburnflare!" she thought instantly and remembered the ginger male from the Dark Forest. She ducked down and whispered. "They haven't visited your dreams lately right? You know.. the Dark Forest cats?" she mewed. she stood up and said quite dramatically, "Well, better go get my youngsters to meet their aunt and uncles!" she rushed to pick up her kits and lied down next to Viper in the nursery, her kits suckling.

Dawnstorm howled in excitement and slid under the nursery entrance. "Viper!" she exclaimed and padded as close as possible to the kits. She would soon have kits. She licked one delicate kit. "How about Robinkit for this tom?" she mewed excitedly, eyeing the calico kitten.

:Robinkit. It's a perfect name!" Viper mewed, nuzzling the small calico tom, who mewled loudly, squirming closer to her tummy.
"No. They haven't been visiting me at all." Viper mewed softly to Sparkflame, before looking her little one's with loving eyes. Purring, she leaned forward and licked the small calico twins, her eyes glowing.
"The little ginger tom is Blazekit for his orange fur.
The little brown tabby is Fenneckit is for his big ears and brown fur.
The little calico male is Robinkit for his robin like markings.
The little calico female is Finchkit for her grey coloring." Viper decided drowsily, her eyes shinning with love and pride.
" Auburnflare, we have four healthy little ones, three toms, and one little she-kit." she thought happily, curling her tail around her kits, staring at them drowsily and happily.

Dawnstorm looked at the kits with pride.She had named one of them! She glanced down at her own stomach and placed a paw there. Soon she would be placed in this warm, cozy place. Soon. Thunderclaw will be so happy. Dawnstorm looked around until her gaze steadied back on the kits. Robinkit seemed to look at her, telling her that he was proud Dawnstorm named her, too. She tilted her head and looked at Viper.
