Phoenixclan vs. Griffinclan

Phoenixclan cats live in the desert, and are able to stand great temperatures. They are also very fast. They hunt large birds and are good at jumping. Griffinclan cats live in the mountains by the desert. They are very strong, and are used to living in the colder climate of the mountains. They are also good at jumping and hunt large birds. During a shortage of prey, the two clans accuse eachother of prey stealing, and are on the verge of war.

Griffinstar yawned as he woke up in his den. As he padded out into camp, he was happy to see his mate, Eaglecall. He quickly padded towards her, and said "How are you doing? Do you need anything? We could share the rest of this eagle I caught last night if you want to." He knew that she was expecting kits soon and he wanted everything to be perfect for her.

Falconheart woke up to a bright morning. She shivered with pleasure at the slight chill permeating the camp, and took a moment to gaze out of the small depression where the cats lived. Tiny alpine flowers dotted the rocky slopes, and peeked out of cracks in the boulders. This high, only small, short plants could grow because of the strength of the wind. Below, however, moss and lichen gave way to massive pines and other forestry that gradually melted to a vast expanse of golden sand, where the cats of PhoenixClan roamed.
Falconheart roused her apprentice and left for a hunt. Even working together, the team only managed to catch a yellow-bellied marmot. This, however, was a rare treat. Yellow-bellied marmots weren't often seen. Eaglecall will appreciate this, Falconheart though.
The two dragged the fat rodent back to camp where they deposited it in the alarmingly small freshkill pile. Falconheart went over to report to her friend and deputy, Swiftstrike. "The prey shortage seems to be getting worse," she mewed, worry coloring her sweet voice. "This whole morning, Lionpaw and I only managed to catch a yellow-bellied marmot."

Griffinstar took a bite out of the eagle as he thought about the shortage of prey. If they didn't do something soon, they wouldn't have enough to feed the clan.

In Phoenixclan camp, Featherfire was thinking the same thing. She left the camp and walked through the desert, until she saw a vulture flying around and she quickly hid behind a rock. It was the only one she had seen that day. Normally, vultures could be seen everywhere in the desert. She waited until it landed, and she jumped on top of it. It tried to fly up, but she bit down hard on it's wing, and it fell back to the ground. She then bite down hard on it's neck, killing it. Then she dragged it back to camp and put it where the fresh-kill pile would have been if there was prey there.
