Apprentice Ceremony

Fang watched amused as the kits got up, not knowing how important today was. He padded over to Iceclaw, "Should we tell the kits?" He was so excited, he couldn`t keep it in much longer. "Please! I can`t wait to tell them....I mean us-I mean...you know what I mean."

Iceclaw avoided his gaze. "Yeah. I think... I'll go for a walk." She replied, padding into the darkness and laying on the ground. She tucked her paws underneath and sighed.

Fang followed Iceclaw, "You`re not going to their Apprentice Ceremony?" He cocked his head in confusion.

Iceclaw met his eyes. "I'm attending. But... but I don't want to be there when you tell them." She whispered.

"Why not? That`s the best part!" He cocked his head again, his left ear drooping a little.

"That we're not together any longer? Because we're not mates? So that's the BEST PART?!" Iceclaw felt furious as she yowled at him.

"No...that they`re going to be apprentices...." Fang flinched from her.

(Let's just play along okay?)

Iceclaw flinched too and blushed deeply. "Sorry! My mistake!" she stuttered.

"I-it`s ok...Do you want to come?" He was still hurt by her remark.

Iceclaw looked uncomfortable. "Alright..." she mewed as she padded after Fang into the nursery.

"Hi, guys! Coming to get the kits?" Dreamclou asked. Grasskit was jumping on Sunkit screaming, "WHO'S GETTING JUMPED ON NOW?! HOW DOES THAT FEEL?!" The other kits are laughing, then Sunkit cries, "It hurts!"

Magicstar flatennd her ears and mewed "Yes Fang, Iceclaw may we procced with the ceremony? AND SUNKIT! GRASSKIT! QUIET DOWN!" she hissed, annoyed and then asked "WHere are your kits Iceclaw and Fang??"

"He needs to learn what it feels like to be jumped on!" Grasskit growled. Dreamcloud swatted him, then snapped, "Don't you dare talk to your leader like that!" then winked at Magicstar.

~Uhh...This was before the Apprentice Ceremony...~

~We know, Fang... We just need to find the kits to make the apprentice ceremony start! ~

Fang pointed his tail towards the Nursery, where Northkit, Frozenkit, Shrewkit, and Duma were curled up, purring. "Right, " He padded into the Nursery, and purred at his kits, " in there."

Smoketail saw the argument but told herself it was just common between mates. She headed towards the highledge to watch the ceremony/

Magicstar smiled weakly and nodded and padded to the highrock. "Let all cats old enough to run with the desert sands gather here, under the High ledge for a tribe meeting!" then she rocked on her heels, chewing her lips, wondering where and if Snakefire was ok....

Smoketail noticed her leader's worried expression. She's grieving Snakefire's absence...

Dreamcloud walked out of the nursery, herding her kits with her tail. She laid down and let the kits curl around her to get warm. Such a cold leafbare... then she saw Magicstar's expression. She misses Snakefire... Like I miss Lionclaw...

~Please, this is about the Apprentice Ceremony...Not to be rude~
Fang looked at the kits, and woke them up in a hurry, "Come on, guys! Soon you won't be kits anymore!" They all jumped up in excitement, "Now, I know you guys can clean yourselves."

~It still is, its ok to add a little bit more, but not enough to steal attention from the ceremony...~

Magicstar shook her head as a cold wind ruffled her fur and then she sighed casting everything aside and she felt a twing of excitment for her best friends kit. Magicstar leaped down and padded to Fang and whispered so only Fang could hear her, "Who would you like to be their mentors?" she asked.

A cold wind flew into the nursery. Almost instantly Dreamcloud's kits huddled up beside their mother. "Mama, it's cold!" squealed Winterkit. "It's fine. The Apprentice Ceremony is about to start, so why dont we go outside to get a good view?" Dreamcloud meowed. She herded her kits with her tail and sat down beneath the High Ledge. She laid down so her kits could huddle warm themselves up in Dreamcloud's long, thick fur.

~I have a question, will Duma's name stay the same? Even when he become's a warrior????~

Fang watched as Frozenkit hurriedly helped Northkit clean himself. He turned to Magicstar, "Hmm....Who doesn't have an apprentice?" He was new; He didn't know everything yet.
