The Last Tribe

(I am debating on keeping this or not. Please tell me your opinions on it :3)
The Last Tribe

The masculine stared at the ocean as if it were a challenge. His tribe had been floating on this large wooden raft for a day now and they hadn’t found anything yet. Inna, a grey tabby she-cat, prodded him gently in the side and began to speak.
“Are you okay, Bramble?” the female asked him.
The brown-pelted leader looked at her with sad eyes and stood up. “No, Inna. It seems as if we’ll be here forever. I haven’t seen any islands and Reed hasn’t spotted a single sign of life other than the fish.” Bramble explained worriedly.
Only 18 cats had survived the fire that raged through the last island. Bramble, Inna, Reed, Bruno, Yarrow, Web, Mallow, Crow, Colby, Jane, Maud, Fallen, Hail, Ciara, Xion, Leo, Stella, and Lark had made it to the raft in time to escape. Bramble had lost his sister, Mary, in the flames and felt as if he was following through a hole of sorrow. He tried to lighten up by watching Crow and Colby play with the water. The two kits were still very new to traveling and their curiosity sometimes got them in trouble. But, they were strong and bold twins who did everything together just like Bramble and Mary. His gaze casted over to Stella who was trying to teach Hail how to swim. The silver tabby to-be was getting on quite well with his work but had always feared the water.
“It’s okay! Nothing’s going to hurt you!” the ginger she-cat encouraged as she waded around. Hail stiffened his legs and stared in fear. “N-no!” he stuttered. But as he stepped back to get away from the edge of the raft he slipped on Xion’s tail and fell into the water. “Paddle! Paddle!” Stella advised. The young tom flailed his small legs around until he got the hang of it. “We’ll work on some things but other than that, you’ll be able to hunt for the whole tribe now!” she purred in pride.
Bramble was so happy to see his tribe getting along so well. After the fire, he expected everyone to be upset and depressed about all the cats that died. But no, they pushed through it and were on their way to a new life.
