Re: Inheritance
It's even more awesome than Warriors. Christopher Paolini is a phenomenal writer. He injects so much detail into the books!

Re: Inheritance
Christopher has just the right amount of detail, not to much, but also not too little. He also has a lot of suspense and mystery. One of the few series I like better then warriors. (See siggie.)
@ Gingerblaze: You really need to read it!!!

Re: Inheritance
I kind of disagree about that. I don't believe that there's such a thing as "too much detail" unless of course it is inappropriate. But Paolini never wrote about inappropriate things, and he actually uses a colossal amount of vivid imagery detail. Gingerblaze, you HAVE to read this. It's a can't-put-down!

Trust me maple, there are some books that I have to read for my school reports that are horrible. They go on and on about the clouds and flowers, and say nothing about the exciting things. Have you read a book called:" The English people rebel"? That is the kind of book I'm talking about.

Re: Inheritance
I have never read this series before :O I think I've heard of it though. Then again, I don't read much
I do agree that books can be overly descriptive, though. It's probably just my taste in writing, as I like the story to be delivered in a straightforward manner rather than being separated with paragraphs of scenery :O My fan-fic entry had little to no descriptions in it
You can lose track of what's happening with descriptions. I'm learning about it now; some stories focus on character, others on plot, and some on setting. Ones with lots of scenery probably have more setting importance in them than most
I should learn to write this much in school ._.

Re: Inheritance
Well what's it about?
To descriptive could be: "The leaf was like a green apple with stripes of gold like a gold coin.." then go on for like paragraphs about one leaf.

Re: Inheritance
A very brief summary is that there is an evil King who rules over the Empire with a iron fist. He is the last of a mysterious group of people called Dragon Riders. When he was young he turned crazy and waged war on the rest of the Dragon Riders, who were the peace keepers. After a while, all the riders except himself were killed, so he set up The empire. A boy named Eragon finds a mysterious blue stone while hunting, which turns out to be a dragon egg. It hatches, and brings a dragon. But The king heard about the dragon, and is determined to either convince Eragon to join him, or the king will kill him. Eragon travels to find the last pockets of resistance against the king, the Elves and a mysterious group of people called the varden.
So there is my summary! There is four books out. It used to be called the Inheritance Trilogy, but because there is now a fourth book it is called the Inheritance Cycle.

Re: Inheritance
I have also read The Inheritance Cycle, and t is a very good series! (: There's some high high-level vocabulary all over the place in those books, so just warning those people who hate looking up words while reading! At some parts the action is kind of slow, and in others, it's hard to unnderstand and you have to read it twice, but otherwise it's a very well-written and intriguing fantasy series! ^^
