The time has come for dogs to rule the wild.
Lucky is a golden-haired mutt with a nose for survival. He has always been a loner—roaming the streets of the busy city and relying on his instincts to get by. Other dogs have Packs, but Lucky doesn’t long for the days he spent with his littermates. He stands alone.
Then the Big Growl strikes. Suddenly the ground is split wide open. The Trap House is destroyed. And all the longpaws have disappeared.
Now Lucky is trapped in a strange and desolate new world with no food, foul water, and enemies at every turn. He falls in with others left behind, including his littermate Bella, a Leashed dog. Relying on other dogs—and having them depend on him—brings new dangers that Lucky isn’t prepared for, but he may not be able to survive on his own. Can Lucky ever be a true Pack Dog?
That's the description of the book. I actually read up to page 61 of the book. It has a rather different writing style from the old Erins. The new Erin Hunter is Gillian Phillip. We actually chatted before! I can't believe it but it really did happen! Heh. Anyways, its rather confusing, the words the dogs use (Loudcage, Sharpclaw etc.)
Looking at the pictures of the dogs in survivors, I like Bella and Mickey. The map actually looked pretty nice, you could find it on the official site for Survivors. Apparently there have been some starred reviews and they said it was marvelous.
So what are your views towards this new series? Vote! And comment!

I want to read this, but when I saw the description I wasn't as excited as I was when I was waiting for the end of the Omen of the Stars series to come out. Plus there's a new Erin, and I'm not sure how that will affect the writing style. I'm looking forward it to it though

Sorry to burst your bubble, guys, but Suvivors isn't actually written by the Erin's.
Kate Cary and Vicky Holmes said on their blog and facebook pages (respectively) that they're not writing Survivors; a new team of four american writers are working on it. Harper Collins is just putting the Erin Hunter name on it instead of the real writer's names.
And if you're curious as too why the usual Warriors/Seekers cover design isn't used here, it doesn't actullay have anything to do with the new writers. HC had a poll on which cover to use, the current one, and a cover with the usual cover design, with the golden retriever in the circle. The cover you see here crushed the originally designed one, almost litterlay, in the voting.

I voted for the actual cover because the other one had so much less detail. It also looked too much like warriors, which is about cats, and survivors is about dogs.

Erin Hunter is just a pen name they use for the series because it just ruins it if there were different names on such a similar book :I
it's a shame to see what people would do to get more money... and i did like the circle cover more. i'm still wondering what the plot would be. they need new names for seasons, new ways of life, and a similar voice in the writing to fake the Erin Hunter identity. ._.

Well Gillian Philip is the new Erin Hunter. I've talked to her through emails and she even read my stories! :DD *Phantom spazzes in delight*

Survivor's first book is already out! Though I won't read it I don't really like dogs.

There is only one author for that book currently by the name of Gillian Phillip. However, she is writing under the name of Erin Hunter.
